      Dr. J. C. Jacobs Dies Following Heart Attack
      Widely-Known Physician, War Veteran and Former County Medical Association President Succumbs At His Home at Age of 67 Years
      Dr. J. C. Jacobs, widely-known Miami physician died unexpectedly at his home, 103 F Street northwest, at 11 a. m. today. He was 67 years old. Death was attributed to coronary thrombosis.
      Dr. Jacobs had lived in Miami for 24 years. He was a graduate of the Barnes Medical college of St. Louis.
      A one-time president of the Ottawa County Medical Association, Dr. Jacobs was held in high esteem by all his associates in the medical profession. He was a member of the First Christian Church and held memberships in the Knights of Pythias and I. O., O. F. lodges.
      Was Captain in War
      The physician served as a captain in the medical corps during the World war.
      In recent years he maintained offices in the First National bank building.
      Dr. Jacobs was seized by a serious heart ailment late yesterday working at his office until 1 p. m. He remained at home through the night, and this morning complained of not feeling well.
      Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Lee Jacobs, two sons, Lee Jacobs of Miami and Lieut. Terrell Jacobs of the U. S. Navy, Annapolis, Md., and one daughter, Miss Etta Jacobs of Miami, five step-sons, Forest Woodmansee of Oakland, Cal., H. C. Woodmansee of Dexter, Mo., Mrs. B. Woodmansee of Oklahoma City, Don Woodmansee of Miami and Bob Woodmansee of Wichita; one step-daughter, Mrs. Ralph L. Cook of Wichita, three brothers, Arthur Jacobs of Harper, Kan., Robert Jacobs of Stoutland, Mo. and Joe Jacobs of Whittier, Cal., and three sisters, Mrs. Molly Bonner of Macks Creek, Mo., Mrs. Nettie Harper of Anthony, Kan. and Mrs. Maude Hammer of Stoutland, Mo.
      Rites Not Arranged
      Funeral arrangements had not been completed this afternoon. The Cooper Funeral home is in charge.
