OBITUARY OF MRS. A. O. JACOBS
Maude May Worley, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Worley, was born at Clay Center, Kan., May 22, 1881 and departed this life at her home at Harper, April 6, 1939; age 57 years, ten months and 15 days
At the age of 12, she moved with her parents and two brothers to St. Louis, MO., and later to Stoutland, Mo. where she grew to young woman-hood. On October 9, 1898, she was united in marriage to Arthur O. Jacobs. To this union were born 12 children, one daughter Sarah Edith, who departed this life in 1908 at the age of four years. Her faithful husband and the remaining 11 children survive, seven boys, Ernest, Claude, Charley, Robert, Wayne, Arthur and Brutus: Also four girls, Maye, Henrietta, Ruth and Hester June. Of the remaining, ten were able to be present. Mrs. Maye Jenkins and Claude Jacobs of Detroit, Mich.; Mrs. Henrietta White and Charley Jacobs of Los Angeles, Calif.; Wayne of Independence; Arthur of Anthony, Robert of Harper; Ruth, Brutus and Hester June, of the home.
The family moved from Missouri to Anthony in 1901 and later in 1910 moved to the Keystone community near Zenda, where she was converted and joined the Methodist church of which she was an active and faithful member until her death.
In 1916 the family moved to near Guymon, Okla. where they resided until July 1926, when they moved to their present home.
Besides her husband and children, she leaves to mourn her departure, two brothers, Charles Worley of Kansas City, Mo., Abraham Worley of Cape Fair, Mo., two son's-in-law, six daughter's-in-law, also 19 grand-children and a host of other relatives of which some were able to be present.
Mrs. Jacobs' friends were numbered by her acquaintances, "To know her was to love her." She will be greatly missed in the home and community of which she was always so active.
Funeral services were held from the Methodist church, Sunday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. Glen Palmer and interment was in the harper cemetery.
