    Notes
    • Godfrey Jacobs, wife Wilhelmenia and their children Marie Louise, William Frederic, Mary Fredrica, and William Leopold arrived in New York on May 17, 1850. They came on the ship Hudson which sailed out of Bremen, Germany. The ship mainifest shows the family came from the province of Oldenburg. John Charles and Thresia are reported to have arrived previously about 1847.
After arrival, the family settled in Franklin, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin where Godfrey bought some land in 1850. He sold the land in 1864 and moved to Oskosh, Wisconsin to be near his daughter Marie Louise. He is reported to have died about 1864. So far a record of Godfrey's death or burial hasn't been located.
The year of birth of Godfrey hasn't been resolved yet. His grand-daughter Nettie Harper said he was born on August 03, 1803, however the ship manifest shows his age as 57 when he arrived in New York indicating he was born about 1793. To further complicate this, the 1860 US Census for Franklin, Milwaukee County, WI shows his age as 76 which indicates he was born about 1784.
After the death of Godfrey, Wilhelmina migrated to Knox County, Illinois to be near John Charles. She then moved to Auglaize Township, Camden County, Missouri with John Charles and his family. She is shown on the 1870 US Census for Auglaize Township, Camden County living with his family. She died in November 14, 1875 and is buried in the Hillhouse Cemetery in Camden County.
