    Notes
    • See notes Joshua Hadley

Patience Brown Hadley was a direct descendant through the Claytons, Mainwarings, Earls of Chester, Richard I (3rd Duke of Normandy), Bernard and Pepin (Kings of Lombardy) to Charlemagne, Emperor of the West and King of Franks 768-814 as noted in Memoirs by Effie Hadley Brindle. This direct descendancy while probably accurate may not have total confirmation

Confirmed is: Patience's great-grandfather, William Clayton, had been one of the most prominent men in early Pennsylvania, councilor to William Penn and acting governor in Penn's absence.
